Today’s topic is about the local impact of one of my reincarnation stories without getting into past life regression or past life regression therapy (my apologies to Dr Brian Weiss). In my book, I write about a life-long obsession with World War 2 despite the fact that I never served in the military in this life. My knowledge (through reading)of infantry subjects is so extensive that anytime I talk to a serviceman or a veteran, they automatically think that I once served and inevitably they ask me what my unit was. A few doors down from me, one of the moms on my street served in the Gulf War when she was younger. She is very friendly, extremely funny and vivacious. She is also a very serious Christian. When we got into a conversation about her service time, she fell in the same trap as the other vets and she actually refused to believe that I never served. After trying to convince her of this, I took the risk of telling her the truth that I was a reincarnated German soldier. She of course thought I was really pulling her leg, especially when I told her that I was writing a book about my prior lives. She did not believe me until I showed her the e-mail from my publisher that awarded my book “Editor’s choice”. The neighbor, “Suzy”, now knew that I was serious. She told me she would read my book if I would then read one of her bible study books. I knew that she was doing her Christian duty, which I respect. But she had no idea that I had stepped into a supernatural twilight zone for 3 years and the mere thought that reading one bible study book was going to reverse the impact of my 3 year experience was incredible. I told her that I appreciated the gesture, but for me, it was a matter of been there, done that. After all, as I served lives as an Abbot of a monastery and as a Arch Bishop Konrad Von Hochstaden, I had already “punched” my ticket as a high level Christian; it was my time for other ways. Suzy wasn’t the only one to offer me the “book” exchange. My sister-in-law Joyce is a lovely person who is a committed born again Christian. She was initially delighted that I found God, but she really can’t get her head wrapped around the God that I found. Despite assuring her that it’s actually the same one she prays to, she made the same offer Suzy did. Sorry Joyce, thank you for your offer, but been there, done that. The whole situation gives me an understanding of what gay men must go through with well meaning relatives. “If only we can fix Todd up one time with that beautiful Rachael, that would change the path he is on!” But it’s not going to work with Todd because Rachael is not his path in life. It’s the same with me; organized religion is not the path I am taking now. But no harm, because in the end, all of our paths will eventually meet up at the same destination. In some future life, Suzy and Joyce will travel on another path just to see what it is like. .
