765 years to close the circle

Reincarntion Story

Frank at the Dome

Here is a mind blowing reincarnation story that took 765 years to come full circle for one soul.  It all started in the 13th century in Cologne Germany.  The then ruler and Bishop of the Cologne region, Arch Bishop Konrad Von Hochstaden, perceived the need to create a bigger, more magnificent Cathedral to house the bones of the Three Magi that were brought to the City by his predecessor decades prior.  An increasing number of pilgrims were streaming to Cologne to venerate the relics and Konrad saw the opportunity to increase the prestige of the city and to draw even more pilgrims.  Konrad set in motion the process of planning and financing the new Cathedral.  In 1248, he laid the foundation stone for the choir of the cathedral. In 1261, Konrad was assassinated, but the building of the Cathedral continued.  Medieval cathedrals take centuries to complete and this was certainly the case for the Cologne Cathedral.  Building was halted in 1473, leaving it unfinished for 400 years.

In the 1500’s, the soul of Konrad returned to life as Thaddeus, the abbot of the Cistercian monastery of nearby Kamp-Linfort. Coincidently, Abbot Thaddeus did visit the unfinished Cologne Cathedral on more than one occasion, but never realized his intimate spiritual link to the Cathedral.

300 years later, the German government restarted the construction of the Cathedral and it was finally completed to the original plan, in 1880. It was not until August 1st, 2013, that the soul of Konrad once again returned to his cathedral in the body of Frank Mares.

I described my spiritual enlightment and discovery that I had once lived a life as the Arch Bishop Konrad Von Hochstaden in my book My Journey down the Reincarnation Highway.   It was only natural that I would want to visit the Cathedral and took the opportunity during our family vacation to Europe. Our vacation started in London and then we moved on to a few days in Paris.  Finally we took a train to Cologne.  The Cologne train station is situated literally right next to the Cathedral.  When I stepped out of the train station and beheld the sight of the huge and beautiful Cathedral, my face broke out in a big grin. I definitely felt a connection to the place.  Dragging my wheeled suitcase behind me, I rushed to the front of the Dome to get a better look.  I felt entranced and my wife had to drag me away so that we could find our hotel.

During our day and a half visit to Cologne, I visited the Cathedral three times. The first time I went alone when my family was settling into the hotel room. I walked through the massive front doors and came across the holy water fonts.  In my life as Frank, I was always very uncomfortable with Catholic rites of worship, however, in this Cathedral, I took the holy water and made the sign of the cross.  This was the first time I ever did this rite in my current life.  I then went to the pews and knelt to pray (another first for me).  My prayer was simple; I thanked God for my enlightenment in this life. Then got up and took in the magnificent ceiling and stained-glass windows. I then went to the back of the Cathedral in the choir section, the volunteers of the Cathedral were shooing visitors out of the area as the floors were being cleaned.  I only caught a glimpse of Konrad’s tomb, before I had to turn back.

The next morning, Karol and I visited the Cathedral while the kids slept in.  I brought a white rose with me so that I could leave it at Konrad’s tomb.  Together we made our way back to the choir area and stood by St. John’s Chapel where Konrad’s effigy and tomb lays facing a beautiful stained-glass window.  I paid homage to my old self by placing the rose in the iron fence grid that encloses the chapel.  Karol snapped pictures of my little ceremony. I took some time to gaze upon my old face, it was hard to break away and leave that particular experience.

Coming full circle

Right next to the tomb of Konrad, is a large mosaic of Konrad holding the building layout of this Cathedral flanked by his clergy and also flanked by a knight holding Konrad’s sword and shield.  Karen put a picture of me holding my book over this mosaic. This mosaic lies between Konrad’s tomb and a magnificent jeweled golden box that contains the relics of the three Magi.  Karol and I admired the beauty of the Golden box. When you step back and think about, those relics were the very reason my soul started this unique spiritual journey.  I now closed the circle.

Later that day, I visited the cathedral again with my daughter Jani, where visited the cathedral’s treasury museum.  We were cautioned by the ticket clerk not to take photos in the museum.  In one of the rooms, I found the Bishop’s staff (also known as the Crosier or Bishop’s crook) that Konrad once used.  Made of gold it was a stunning piece of art. It was mind boggling to think that I once held that staff in a different body.  I had my Iphone with me.  Although it was verboten, I took a picture of my old staff.  I gave myself permission.  Why not?  This was my cathedral and that was my staff!

I am going to visit my Tomb!

reincarnation stories

Konrad’s tomb at the Cologne Cathedral

Here is a reincarnation story that might be a classic!  I am actually going to visit my tomb in Cologne’s Cathedral on August 1st during my family vacation to Europe.  I don’t think there are many people who can say such a thing.

It all started last winter when my wife was reviewing ideas for our annual summer vacation.  She had her heart set on going to Europe and I saw an immediate opportunity to visit some of my past lives’ landmarks.  With only a limited 12 days to spend, she wanted to concentrate on London, Paris and Salzburg.  I wanted to visit the tomb of Konrad Von Hochstaden in Cologne and Nicholas Des Fours’ castle in Czechoslovakia. For those of you who are married, you know that marriage is always a matter of negotiation, so I had to settle for one day in Cologne.  Konrad von Hochstaden or Nicholas never would have settled, so I like to think that I am making progress as a soul.

I really do not know what to expect when I visit a body that I used to reside in.  Will there be some kind of spontaneous memory? Or some kind of physical reaction?  Or will there be no reaction, because it is said that after souls leave their bodies upon death, they have no real interest in their now useless body.  The body that I will be visiting has not been used since 1261, so I am really not expecting a paranormal event, but you never know.  I am not quite sure what I will do at the tomb; perhaps leave a flower and a copy of my book there.  I definitely will have Karol take a picture of my beside it.

Speaking of past life memories, last week I spoke at a Hypno regression demonstration hosted by Jeremiah Wolfe of Columbus Ohio.  Jeremiah is a hypno-therapist who specializes in past life regression.  In my book, Brenda Posani hypno-regressed me to the time of my WW2 life as Otto.  I had really hoped to see images of that past life during that session, but that did not happen.  During Jeremiah’s event, he had a segment where he hypno-regressed everyone attending the seminar at the same time.  Before going under, I asked Spirit if he/she would reveal some scenes from my Konrad life as I was going to Cologne shortly.  During the exercise, I was so happy to actually see images!  First was a cartoonish image of an Arch Bishop decked out in “all of his” splendor.  When I mentally asked who that was, the word Konrad was written out in cursive.  I then was rewarded with a vision of the dark inside of a large wooden building.  Outside was a log palisade wall that was there for defensive purposes.  I then saw a medieval soldier in chain mail and armor working on the wall.  I later learned that I was viewing the scene through Konrad’s eyes as he was visiting the barracks of his troops.  I thought the experience was beyond cool!  I was really appreciative of finally seeing my past.  When I get back, I will be sure to describe the adventure of visiting “my” Cathedral.

Hanging about on 9

Reincarnation story told by a spirit guide

Otto’s Cap

This post is a reincarnation story and a psychic story all rolled in to one. In my continuing quest to learn how the spiritual world works, I made my quarterly visit to my psychic trainer Brenda Posani for another reading. My specific objective was to interact with my spirit guide Morton. I wanted to learn more about him and to try to establish a more personal relationship with him. If you read my book, you will recall that Brenda introduced me to Morton several years ago in another reading, describing a scene where he was having an egg fight with another guide named Gulliver. Brenda told me then that Morton was my main guide.
Many psychics do have personal relationships with their spirit guides because they can have a 2 way dialogue with them. I do not have this luxury because my psychic messages are limited to yes and no answers. It’s hard to establish a conversation when all you can receive is a simple yes or no. This limitation requires that I initiate all questions with my guide (or any spirit) and it would take a tremendous amount of time to get any interesting information from him. I had used Brenda in the past to have conversations with my deceased father and that worked out very well as my Dad would pretty much communicate in simple English sentences without much symbolism. My hope was that I could set up the same type of dialogue with Morton. I thought it would be helpful to find out about his most important prior lives to get some context about him and why he was assigned to me.
On May 1st during a meditation session at home, I asked Morton if was up for an interview through Brenda, I received a yes response from him. I then asked if I should make an appointment with Brenda the next day which was a Thursday and the answer was no. When I suggested Friday, Morton agreed. I then booked a 2:00 PM appointment with Brenda through her website.
On the Friday morning of my reading, I took the opportunity to go the outdoor gun range at Delaware State Park. (No, I am not getting off on a tangent; my gun range activities that day had a spiritual connection.) My mission was to break in my new M-16 assault shotgun. The shotgun looks and feels like a regular army M-16 assault rifle except that it shoots shot gun ammo. To get the semi-automatic feature to work correctly, the gun’s manual said that you have to shot at least 100 rounds through it to break it in. Since I was going to the range anyway, I brought along some of my German WW2 weapons, the MP-40 submachine gun and my Walther P-38 pistol to also shoot. Since it was a fairly warm day, I wore cargo pants shorts, hiking boots, a solid gray T-shirt and to literally “top it off”, my wool gray-green WW2 German Edelweiss cap. Why did I wear that cap? Maybe by wearing the cap I wore in my immediate past life, I was trying to call upon that life’s military skills to help me with my new unfamiliar gun. Anyway, my look that morning was “military casual.” As usual, I got a late start to get to the range which is a 30 minute drive from home. I had an enjoyable time shooting all three of the guns, but I had to hustle back to get to my appointment with Brenda. I had just enough time to drive back home to stow my weapons back into my gun safe, but I had to take the short drive to Brenda’s office in the same clothes that I wore to the range. I think I faintly smelled of burnt gunpowder. I barely made it to Brenda’s office on time.
Bursting through her door at 2:00 pm, we went to her office to begin the reading. I told Brenda that I had already set up an interview with Morton and that I wanted to have a conversation with him. It did not take long for Brenda to make the connection with Morton, but unfortunately, he was not going to communicate in simple sentences like my dad. He instead stayed with symbolic language.
Brenda reported, “He keeps saying, “Hanging about on nine”. What does that mean?” To help solve this mystery, she then asked me what the ninth planet in our solar system was.
“I don’t know, its Neptune or Pluto”
“Maybe he’s hanging around that planet,” pondered Brenda.
Many times you receive symbolic messages that you just cannot decipher immediately. I tried to move on by asking Morton a question, but Brenda replied that Morton kept on repeating the phrase, “Hanging about on 9”.
Since Morton was being persistent about it, I knew I had to put greater effort into figuring out his message.
“Maybe he is talking about me instead,” I ventured.
“Ok, what does the number nine mean to you?” asked Brenda.
I had to think about that question, because nothing immediately hit me. Then I made the connection.
“The subtitle to my book is “the true story of a man who found nine of his past lives”. If you take those nine lives and put them in chronological order, my World War 2 life as Otto the German Sergeant would be life 9. My guide is obviously referring to me reenacting my “ninth life” this morning by going to the gun range and shooting the very same weapons that I shot in my prior life. Plus I was wearing the same cap Otto would have. It’s fascinating to realize that he was watching my activities that morning and had the wit to make a funny comment about it.
With that funny revelation, we were able to move on where Morton revealed that he was once an explorer in two of his past lives as a Viking, crewing with Leif Eriksson and later was a Spanish conquistador in South America. In a future blog post, I will reveal what Morton’s exploration background has to do with me. All I can say is that after this life, he is going to take me somewhere fascinating!

Adopting your soul’s past as your own

Reincarnation of konrad von Hochstaden in the psychic light

Originally posted on 11/10/2012

Today I want to discuss incorporating reincarnation into your personal history.

Take a moment and look back at your life. Recount the things that you did and accomplished. You probably will say that you went to such and such school and married so and so. You will also remember a laundry list of accomplishments and failures. This history defines you as a person. Because of my discovery of what I did during my past lives, I am a little different. I have mentally added those past life accomplishments and dirty laundry to who I am today. I really have adopted these experiences as my own. For example, if you have read my book, you already know that my prior personalities:

  1. Laid the cornerstone of the Cologne Cathedral.
  2. Ordained St Thomas Aquinas as a priest.
  3. Bought a castle
  4. Was the right hand man to the Holy Roman Emperor in the 1600s
  5. Murdered seven people in the 1600’s.
  6. Was involved in a land embezzlement that eventually got me killed.
  7. Saved six soldiers (and myself) during a tough retreat in the snow in Russia in WW2.

Good and bad, I have accepted and added these experiences to my current life experiences:

  1. I went to Cleveland State University and earned two degrees.
  2. I married Karol and had 3 children.
  3. I managed to create one successful business.
  4. I really was not that good as a salesman.

What does it all mean? I guess you can say that I think at a soul level rather than a human level, I think in the psychic light. Does this thinking help me in my human life? Not really, as I think most people think that I am nuts. But I do believe that my acceptance of my prior life past helps me out on a soul level. If it cuts down on the number of remaining lives I have to live, I will live with people thinking that I am nuts.
